Corman Park

As you may know, Jeff brought a motion to council to provide funding for the Corman Park Basketball Court this past September.  The Court was closed in August due to safety concerns, and the new funding will allow City Parks Staff to rebuild and reopen the court in 2024.

This past October, in collaboration with fellow Stoney Creek Councillors Brad Clark (Ward 9) and Matt Francis (Ward 5), Jeff brought an additional motion forward to fund the replacement of the Corman Park play structure, along with structures at Valley Park and Green Acres Park.  Although the Corman Park structure may look fine, Parks staff have identified it as being at the end of its lifecycle, and proactively replacing it is the responsible thing to do.  The Ward 10 Team will be undertaking a community engagement process in 2024 to determine the types of play equipment our community would like to see, with installation occurring in 2025.

This is in addition to play court upgrades and new pathways that are already planned for Ferris and Hunter Estates Park in 2024, as part of Jeff’s Ward 10 Parks Investment Plan.
